Light Your World
Each month, SDUMC engages in a different Light Your World service project. These range from beach clean-ups, to food sorting at Feeding San Diego, to monitoring showers at Showers of Blessing. Visit our Missions' Table in between services or check the upcoming events to sign-up for the next service opportunity.
Feeding the Unsheltered (Fill-a-belly)
On Thursday evenings at 6:30 we partner with Fill-a-belly in providing meals to the unsheltered in our community. If you would like to volunteer or help with meals you can contact Fill-a-belly.
English Language Tutoring
Under the auspices of the Laubach Literacy Council of San Diego we offer free English language tutoring each Monday evening, 7:00-9:00 pm, and Tuesday morning, 9:00-11:00 am. Our students reflect all levels of English fluency and represent many nationalities. Sessions are either one-to-one or in small groups no larger than five students. All of our tutors are native English speakers. For those interested in studying English, or in becoming a tutor, please contact the Church Office.

We provide hot showers, a change of clothing (including new underwear and socks), haircuts, a bite to eat and camaraderie. Mostly it is a safe place to come, relax a bit and be accepted.

Sierra Service Project
San Dieguito UMC has a long history of attending Sierra Service Project. Sierra Service Project is a wonderful way that we can put our faith into action by sharing the unconditional love of God through service and fellowship. SSP is a week-long experience in the summer, consisting of service, worship, devotionals, discussions, fun and games, and Christian fellowship.
UMCOR
As the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Committee on Relief assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need.
David & Margaret Youth & Family Services
David & Margaret empowers children, youth, and families through culturally diverse services that foster emotional, educational, spiritual, and identity development. SDUMC leads a service project once a year to help David & Margaret with various grounds improvement projects.
Internationally
An international immersion trip changes the lives of everyone involved – from the people living in the communities we serve to those who are building, teaching, giving, training and planting.
