The children and teens at SDUMC have a place to call their own! Our goal for each weekend service is to create an environment that would both be educational and entertaining. We plan to capture your child’s imagination, intrigue them and set them on a course of discovery.
When your child/teen arrives on our campus, they will be greeted by one of our Children’s/Teen Ministry volunteers. These leaders have completed an extensive orientation and training program, been carefully screened and are committed to the safety of your child.

So do I have to give money to SDUMC? If you are new to SDUMC, please don’t feel any pressure to give. People will never be pressured to give money here, but regular attenders and members are encouraged to invest in the work of ministry at SDUMC by generously sharing from their God-given resources. The offerings which we receive during our services support the many ministries of our church and gives SDUMC the means to reach more people for Christ in the future.
What are the sermons and messages like at SDUMC? Every weekend, you will hear a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We want you to be able to say that what we talked about on the weekend gave you something that could help you on Monday, in your family, at your work, with your life.
Will I understand the message even if I don’t know much about the Bible? At the core of it all this is the fact that God has made all of us to live lives focused on glorifying Him. It’s not about religion, it’s about a relationship with God. It’s not about pretending that we’re perfect, it’s about a God who is willing to give His grace to grow us. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.
What if I come from a different faith background? Our messages are prepared to connect with people’s lives by using the ageless wisdom of Scripture and presenting it in a creative, yet straight-forward way. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals checking out what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus as well as those who have been committed Christ-followers for many years. We hope you’ll find our services to be very helpful in your personal spiritual growth.
Your denominational background isn’t what’s important. Together, we focus on biblical truth and teachings, and pursuing an active relationship with Jesus Christ. You don’t have to be a member of a specific religious denomination to do that.
How do I get involved at SDUMC? Attending weekend services is a great start, but we hope you’ll move beyond being just part of our weekend crowd. You can further your faith, meet people and learn more about life as a Christ-follower by getting involved in one of our adult programs
What if I’m not even sure I believe in God? If you haven’t made a decision to accept Christ, but would like to know more about it, you’re definitely heading in the right direction!
