Discussion Forum

Our calendar is not yet finalized, so watch this space for future announcements. Will Eldon will lead a Forum on the myriad uses and legal/political issues of hemp, and a guest speaker will tell us about Vaccine Associated Sarcoma in cats (primarily) and dogs (less often).

Contrary to earlier announcements, we will be holding our final Forum of the year the weekend AFTER Thanksgiving, because Steve Hayes has graciously agreed to regale us with a brief history of secular Christmas celebration as we know it in the U.S. The tradition is probably not as old as you would have guessed.

On 8 November, we welcome Laurin Pause, Executive Director of the local Community Resource Center, who will tell us about acute needs in our own neighborhood. This will be followed on the 15th by a discussion of our upcoming Interfaith Shelter rotation, led by our Church and Society Committee. Since Pastor Joel Melo has taken ill and will be unable to lead our Forum on  November 1st, we are canceling Forum that day. We shall definitely reschedule the good pastor when he is feeling better and can conveniently make the long trip up here to talk to us about the vital work of Santa Nino. Please join us on  November 8th for a special Forum on our local Community Resource Center.
