Welcome:
San Dieguito United Methodist Church is a vital congregation with more than 120 years of mission and ministry in Northern San Diego County.
Join us as we encounter the Living God through worship, teen ministry, small group studies, ministry to children, music, outreach to those in need, friendship and an intentional openness to all God’s people.
Our hearts, our minds, and our doors are always open to you and your family.
Parking :
- We have a large parking lot adjacent to the church. Additional parking is available across the cul de sac in the business park. We have several designated handicapped parking spaces as well as visitor spaces. A drop-off area is located in front of the church.
Welcome Tent:
- You will find a welcome tent in front of the church with information about our church and its ministries. A welcome team is available to answer any questions. If you need more information at any point during your visit, just look for someone wearing an “Ask Me” nametag.
Dress:
- We do not have a dress code. Some people dress casually, and others wear their Sunday best. It’s up to you. Whatever you decide to wear, you are welcome.
Services and Fellowship: We offer two types of services: traditional and modern. Both are family-friendly and children are encouraged to attend.
Traditional service. (9:00 and 10:45 am)
- The ministers call the children to the altar shortly after the service begins for a message meant especially for them. The pre-K through 6th grade children are invited to Sunday School or to rejoin their families in worship. Middle and high school children attend Sunday School every other week, or can choose to worship with their families.
- The service is an hour long with traditional hymns and music provided by our adult choir. You might also hear special music provided by the children’s choir, or one of our three bell choirs. Communion takes place the first Sunday of the month.
- Coffee Fellowship -Between services, we invite you to join us for coffee in our courtyard, in Founders Hall or next to the playground. You will have a chance to meet Rev. Feldmeir, Rev. Wingfield, and our youth director, Rebecca Hensley.
Revive Modern Service (first Sunday of the month, 5:00 pm)
- We spend about an hour together singing sacred and popular songs lead by our rockin’ Revive Band. We will also listen to words of Good News, and appreciate film or art related to the scripture. Older children are encouraged to participate in worship and share Communion. Childcare is provided for younger children.
- Dinner Fellowship -Continue in fellowship by staying after the service for a casual dinner.
Visitors with disabilities:
- Our facilities are fully accessible. If you need assistance, please ask one of our ushers. They will be happy to help you with whatever you need.
Visitors who are hearing impaired:
- We have an integrated system complete with amplified headphones available at the entrance of the center aisle. Please ask an usher for assistance.
Nursery:
- Our nursery is adjacent to the worship area and is available for infants and toddlers to age 3. Our childcare staff is attentive and nurturing, so attend worship knowing that your young ones are in good hands. (Our childcare staff are experienced caregivers who have completed background checks.)
