During the Forum this Sunday, October 13, Kelly McCormick will discuss The Facts About Vaping. She will provide information on the health crisis, the link with Big Tobacco, the marketing practices geared toward youth,
and importantly, she will bring samples of e-cigarettes to help parents recognize the easily concealable devices. Parents especially please come to the Forum presentation.

What we know
As of October 1, 2019, 1,080 lung injury cases associated with using
e-cigarette, or vaping, products have been reported to CDC from 48
states and 1 U.S. territory.
Eighteen deaths have been confirmed in 15 states.
What we don’t know
The specific chemical exposure(s) causing lung injuries associated
with e-cigarette use, or vaping, remains unknown at this time.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) urges everyone to refrain
from vaping, no matter the substance or source, until current investigations
are complete.
