“Hope for the Journey”

Rev. John Shaver

Livestream Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 9:30 am

BULLETIN LISTEN NOW WATCH Dear SDUMC Family and Friends, I greet you with hope on this Easter Friday! Yes, Easter is not just one day a year, but a season (from Easter Sunday and goes until Pentecost and we’ll share that as we sing the hymn, Easter People Raise Your Voices, “Every day to us is Easter, with its resurrection song. When the cares of life o’erwhelm us, Easter people, sing this song: “Alleluia! Alleluia!” Everlasting triumph song.” I’ve included a link about the author of this great hymn below. I know this is a song I need to sing, and I am sure the words resonate for many of you during this 2020 Easter season. This Sunday, we’ll share in the story of Jesus coming to the disciples and Thomas. A scripture, once again, filled with numerous emotions and yet filled with hope. The passage always reminds me that God meets us where we are, is present with us in all circumstances, and reminds us that there is hope for the journey ahead. We’ve planned a Sunday with inspiring music, scriptures that continue to speak to us today, a message of hope, and time for prayer and meditation. I hope you will join us at 9:30 AM as we continue to livestream or later in the day (we’ll continue to email you a link to the service later on Sunday morning). There are also many ways to connect as you look through the E-news, and we will continue to provide more opportunities in the coming weeks. As always, my prayers are with you and with our world. Grace, Peace, and Easter Blessings, John   Story of Easter People Raise Your Voices
