How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity! Psalm 133:1

Dear SDUMC Family,

I hope you are doing well as we begin the weekend. It has been a wonderful year as we've (re)gathered in God's love in many ways. This Sunday will be another special day to help kick off the SDUMC fall season. I hope you will join me for an exciting morning of worship, food, and friendship.

On Sunday, we will be hosting our Sixth Annual Open Door Sunday - with a picnic to follow in the Preschool Playground (the church will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, fruit, beverages, and a light dessert). We will also have a bubble artist, bounce house, and more to provide fun for all ages.

I hope you will make a point to be with us in worship, invite a family member or friend, and spend some time reconnecting as we move into the fall season.

Here is a rundown of our morning and afternoon:
8:00 a.m. - Communion Worship in the Chapel
9:30 a.m. - Morning Worship Hour in the Sanctuary
10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. - Ministry Fair with Coffee and Donuts on the Patio (Playground will be open)
11:15 a.m. - BBQ and Fun on the Preschool Playground

I am grateful to each of you for sharing the gift of friendship with others and reaching out to our neighbors as we have moved through 2022! Sunday will be a day that we can boldly share Psalm 118:24, "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!" I'm looking forward to a celebratory day with you all! Don't forget to take a "holy risk" and invite a friend or call someone you've missed.

Grace, Peace, and Thanks,
John
