Dear SDUMC Family,

Here is your 2022 "holy" riddle for the week...

Question: What do the following have in common?

What is going on at SDUMC if you find: Bags of Costco-sized snacks throughout the church office, chalk drawings all over the SDUMC Campus, a dragon puppet next to a scripture verse, a trunk full of hygiene kits for our neighbors in need, 30 travel mugs of coffee (for some tired adults), homemade slime in a few spots of Room 6, 4,000 Musical Notes floating around, and around the campus, and a week of sharing God's love through Scripture, Play, Crafts, and Songs.

I'm sure the last one gave it away. So, of course, the answer is - VBS 2022!

I hope you see these as more than numbers and some fun facts (maybe a few preacher exaggerations) as they add up to another inspiring week of sharing God's love, hope, peace, and joy to the children of our church, preschool, and community.

Thank you, SDUMC Family, for your stewardship of Children's ministries, opening the campus, volunteering time, and praying for all of us this week. VBS week is always significant to me as Vacation Bible School holds excellent memories of the early steps in my faith journey. Experiencing one more way we are (re)Gathering in God's love was also outstanding.

I hope you'll join us on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. as we joyfully share the excitement we have witnessed throughout the week. It will be a Sunday filled with wonderful music from the Chancel Choir before they take a well-deserved summer break, special music, a joyful musical message from some of the VBS Children, new members, and more.

We will continue our 8 a.m. half-hour Communion worship through the summer if you are looking for an earlier alternative. Of course, our 9:30 a.m. Live-stream Worship option continues (throughout the week on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/SanDieguitoUMC).

This Sunday would be a great week to bring a friend and share hope! Again, I look forward to worshiping with you at 8 a.m. (In The Chapel) & 9:30 a.m. (In The Sanctuary)!

Grace, Peace, and Weekend Blessings,
John
