BULLETIN LISTEN WATCH IMG_1316 “Hope is the power of being cheerful in circumstances that we know to be desperate.” G.K. Chesterton Dear SDUMC Family and Friends, I hope this finds you and your friends and family well and know my prayers are with you all for peace and good health! I do miss seeing all of you during the week and especially on Sunday (I am grateful for the many ways that we have been able to connect through technology in recent weeks). Even though Sundays are very different for all of us, I believe that this will be another joy-filled Sunday (whether you wear your “Sunday Best” or “Best Pajamas” as you are “Safe At Home”). This Sunday, we will again be livestreaming at 9:30 a.m. on our Facebook Page San Dieguito United Methodist or on our website encinitaschurch.com (we will also be emailing the worship service later in the day). Our Livestream 9:30 a.m. Worship (and recorded service) will have some special musical surprises (even with a member from the LA Philharmonic Orchestra joining the Carlsbad HS Brass Ensemble for our final hymn), a special Mission Moment from Emily Templin, another unique Chancel search for the children and a message of Hope, Help, and Healing (as we continue our parable sermon series). As this is the first Sunday of the month, we’ll be sharing in a Love Feast (an ancient sharing and blessing of the food that God has provided for us – so, have some bread and juice or breakfast food with you as you watch). On the first Sunday of June, we’ll share in a special time of Communion (more information to come), and you can always bring your bread and juice to Wednesday Night Prayers and Communion. I hope that you might share a Facebook invite with family and friends (or start a Facebook Watch Party – maybe connect with them over Zoom or phone and sing the hymns together). If you are having any trouble with technology (livestream troubleshooting guide is provided in the Enews), this would also be a great time to give a friend, child, or grandchild a call and ask them to help you with connecting to worship (and then have them join you too). Grace, Peace, and Prayers for You and for our World, Rev. John PS. We have an all-church Scavenger Hunt planned this Sunday and next Sunday (you don’t have to leave your house or apartment) for Children of all ages. Watch for an email following Worship. PPS. Following our 9:30 a.m. service, we will have another Virtual Coffee Hour.
