BULLETIN LISTEN NOW ODS Pic “The grace of God means something like: Here is your life. You might never have been but you are because the party wouldn’t have been complete without you.”                                                          -Frederick Buechner Dear SDUMC Family, I hope you’ve had a blessed summer and I’m sure you’re back to many things that are kicking off in September! This Sunday will be another special day to kick-off the SDUMC fall season. I hope you will join me for an exciting morning of worship, food, and friendship. On Sunday, we will be sharing in our Fifth Annual Open Door Sunday – with a picnic to follow in the Preschool Playground (hotdogs, hamburgers, salads, and beverages will be provided by the church – bring one of your favorite desserts to share). We will also have games, a bounce house and fun for all ages. I also look forward to introducing you to our wonderful new organist during worship (we’ll share details on Sunday morning). I hope that you will make a point to be with us in worship, invite a friend, and spend some time in fellowship as we move into the fall season. Here is a rundown of our morning and afternoon: 8:00 AM – Communion Worship in the Chapel 9:00 AM – Communion Worship in the Chapel (a time for those who are helping during 10 AM worship). 9:30 AM – 10 AM – Ministry Fair with Coffee and Donuts on the Patio 10 AM – Morning Worship Hour in the Sanctuary 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Ministry Fair 11:30 AM – BBQ and Fun on the Preschool Playground I am grateful to each of you for sharing the gift of friendship with others and visioning into this year of ministry in North County! Sunday will be a day that we can boldly share Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” I’m looking forward to a celebratory day with you on Sunday! Don’t forget to take a “holy risk” and invite a friend or call someone you’ve missed. Grace, Peace, and Thanks, John
