BULLETIN LISTEN NOW This Is Us_Post “…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 Dear SDUMC Family, I send you greetings from balmy Kansas City (yes, it’s around 80 degrees this morning in Kansas). Over the last few days, a group of us from SDUMC (Rev. Chelsea, Cheryl Allen, and Dana Black) have been attending the Leadership Institute at the Church of the Resurrection (the largest United Methodist congregation in the country). About 1,300 other United Methodists from hundreds of churches around the globe have joined us for an inspirational week of prayer, singing, renewing friendships, shared Communion, and heard messages of hope for the future (also, as all good Methodists, we have gathered around the dinner table and shared a little Kansas City BBQ). We’ll share more in the weeks and months to come, but it has been a great blessing to connect with others who are striving to live out the three simple rules of Methodism – Do No Harm, Do Good, Love God. I look forward to being in worship with you on Sunday morning at 8, 9, or 10:30 for an exciting morning as we continue our series, This Is Us. This Sunday, our series will take us to – “This Is Us: A People of Faith.” I ask you to ponder with me on the passage from Matthew 17:20 and discern what mountains God is calling you to move… Grace, Peace, and Weekend Blessings, John PS Christ’s outstretched hands in the window at the Church of the Resurrection are a symbol to all gathered for worship – to go – to go and share hope, peace, love, and joy. May we go forward in that spirit.
