BULLETIN LISTEN NOW This Is Us_Post Dear SDUMC Family, This Sunday is one of my favorite Sundays as we join with millions around the globe for World Communion Sunday. We will continue our SDUMC tradition as we worship with music from one of the corners of the world. This year, we will celebrate the Pacific Islands (come and be joyfully surprised). Also, come join in the fun with your Pacific Island clothing (Hawaiian shirts, etc..) Please try and arrive at 9 AM and 10:30 as our special music will start at the beginning of Worship. The Chancel Choir will also provide inspiring music and we’ll share in Communion with people from around the world. World Communion Sunday began in the 1930s at Shadyside Presbyterian Church as a way to speak to the world during times of war. As Nazi power grew in Europe and that continent was embroiled in the birth of another war, Christian denominations came together on a special Sunday to provide an alternative vision for the world. Gathering around the table as Christians, instead of denominations, became a hope for the future- a dream that we one day will be enfolded back into the family of Christ that knows no boundaries or divisions. This would be a great week to bring a friend to experience the joy we have at SDUMC and to pray for hope and peace for the world. I hope to see you at 8 AM, 9 AM or 10:30 AM. Grace, Peace, and Aloha, John PS Also, remember to bring non-perishable food to share for the Community Resource Center.
