Rev. Dr. Mark Maddix
Lead Pastor
Mark sensed a call to ministry at the age of 19. He wasn’t sure what that meant, but knew it included serving the church in some capacity. While serving in ministry he completed his undergraduate and seminary degrees at Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary. As he continued to serve in pastoral ministry for a dozen years he saw the need to educate and prepare the next generation of ministers. He went back to graduate school and completed a Ph.D. and served for the next twenty-five years as a professor and dean of theology.
As an author, educator, and pastor, Reverend. Maddix has been committed to equipping believers for ministry, fostering strong discipleship programs, and developing church leaders. His scholarship and ministry experience have shaped his approach to pastoral leadership, integrating academic knowledge with real-world ministry application.
His call has taken him to teach and prepare leaders in over twenty countries around the world. His international experiences have expanded his view of other cultures and religions and has given him a greater appreciation of how God works in the world.
Rev. Maddix has a deep love for teaching, preaching, and pastoral care. He has dedicated his life to integrating faith, learning, and ministry. He is committed to helping people grow in their knowledge and faith in God.
He also believes the gospel is a call to liberate the oppressed, the poor, and marginalized of society. He is committed to equality, justice, and the inclusion of all people. His life’s mission is to help believers grow in faith and live out their calling with wisdom and passion.
Mark and his wife Sherri have two grown children. Mark enjoys international travel, walking his dogs on the beach, playing the drums, and watching Kentucky basketball.
