We believe that God’s grace is open to everyone. You are welcome at San Dieguito, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. We embrace God’s children of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs; those who have questions, those who doubt, and those who live on faith. All are welcome to participate in the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Core Beliefs
Grace
Grace is God’s gift to all people that heals, forgives, and transforms people and all creation. Wherever God is present, grace is also present.
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit
We believe in one God who loves us deeply and is revealed to us in three persons: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God offers grace and forgiveness to all. We are invited into a reconciled relationship with God, one another, and all creation.
The Church
The Church is the gathered community of faith empowered to follow Jesus’ example of love and service. We believe that we grow in faith by God’s grace through worship, prayer, study, and service to those in need.
The Bible
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments provide the basis of our faith. We view Scriptures through the lens of church tradition, human reason, and lived experience.
Social Justice
In the Gospels, Jesus healed the sick and brought hope to those on the fringes of society. We believe that we are meant to follow this example to work for the well-being of all people. We are committed to working towards peace, love, and justice in our community and the world.
