Sunday Service, April 7, 2024 – Rev. Dr. Faith Conklin

On this Second Sunday of Easter, Rev. Dr. Faith Conklin will be preaching from John 20:19-29 where we read the story of Jesus’ appearance to the disciples and Thomas. It’s the designated gospel lesson for this Sunday every year. It’s one of her favorites. She loves how Jesus deals with his disciples “after the resurrection.” He surprises them by offering peace, not punishment, a blessing rather than a “bashing.” Rev. Dr. Faith finds hope in how he affirms and accepts Thomas even in his uncertainty and allows space for his questions.

This year, she is looking at this text through a different lens. As we begin our series on Radical Hospitality, is there a word these stories have for us? For her, the answer is, “Yes”.
